Who must purchase a digital stamp?

The obligation to obtain a digital stamp before entering tolled sections applies only to motor vehicles with at least four wheels, the maximum permitted weight of which does not exceed 3.5 tonnes. Motorcycles and trailers are not required to have a digital stamp. For vehicles that are exempt from this obligation, the acquisition of an electronic stamp is not necessary.

Control and fines Czech highways

The Police of the Czech Republic and the Customs Administration of the Czech Republic are able to identify vehicles using license plates and verify the validity of electronic stamps or find out whether vehicles are exempt. Control is carried out on tolled sections of highways using patrol vehicles equipped with a camera system for recognizing license plates and using a remote connection to control gates. Checks can also be carried out at rest areas and parking lots. If the driver does not have a valid electronic stamp on the tolled section of the highway (and is not exempt), he faces a fine of up to CZK 20,000. The control also includes possible misuse of the exemption. If someone reports the exemption without authorization with the intention of abusing the system, they may face a fine of up to CZK 100,000. The same fine can also be imposed on a driver who uses an exempt vehicle but fails to give notice of exemption as required by law. A fine of up to CZK 5,000 may be imposed on those who do not submit information about changes in exemption to the State Transport Infrastructure Fund within ten working days. In addition to capturing license plates and verifying the validity of electronic stamps or exemptions, photographs of the vehicle are taken in the event of an invalid stamp or exemption. The software then splits the record into a photo and data, further working only with the data sent to the control system.

Why do we charge an environmental fee?

The handling charge allows us to sustain our project and fund tree planting, which leads to a reduction in the carbon dioxide emissions caused by car traffic. Almost a third of all CO2 emissions in the EU come from transport, with road transport accounting for 72 percent of this amount. Actively contribute to climate protection and support our planet by purchasing a digital stamp that will contribute to the expansion of forests. The amount of the fee for planting a tree depends on the type of digital stamp: CZK 200 for an annual, monthly and ten-day stamp, and CZK 150 for a daily stamp.
